Changing Your Home And Garden

I have always loved the idea of going through my home and making changes to my home and garden, but things aren't always as simple as they seem. About six months ago, I realized that I needed to do something to make some significant changes to my home, because the entire space had grown dated and unsightly. It was a lot of stress to figure out what I should do and how I could make powerful changes, but after working hard to prioritize my needs, things started to come together. This blog is all about changing your home and garden in a way that works for your budget and lifestyle.

Repairing Your Faulty Sprinkler System

The installation of a sprinkler system can reduce the amount of work that you have to do in order to keep your landscaping healthy and attractive. However, there are many potential problems that a sprinkler system could eventually experience.

Decreased Range

When your sprinkler system is being installed, the sprinkler heads will be carefully positioned to ensure that they provide optimal coverage of the landscaping. If there is a problem with the water pressure, it could lead to the sprinklers failing to provide the appropriate coverage for the landscaping, which can lead to some areas failing to get enough moisture. In some instances, these issues may be the result of a substantial leak that is in the buried water lines for the sprinkler system. However, other instances may be due to a root from a nearby tree or bush growing into the line. A video inspection can help to identify the source of these issues with your sprinkler system.

Sprinkler Heads That Fail To Activate

Most sprinkler systems will be designed so that they will retract into the soil when they are not being used. Unfortunately, some sprinkler heads can become jammed, which can lead to them failing to retract or extend.  In some cases, this may be due to the sprinkler system not having sufficient pressure. However, it can also be the result of mechanical issues with the sprinkler heads. A professional evaluation will have to be completed to assess the cause of the sprinkler head malfunction and the necessary repairs. Luckily, replacing a damaged sprinkler head can be a simple and affordable type of work to have done for your system.

Sprinklers That Activate When It Is Raining

Most modern sprinkler systems will use rain sensors that will prevent the system from activating during times when it is raining. Without these systems, the sprinklers could activate, which may waste a considerable amount of water. This may also contribute to landscaping issues due to flooding and erosion. Unfortunately, it is possible for a rain sensor to malfunction, which can prevent it from stopping the system from activating during these times.

Addressing this problem can be somewhat complicated as these devices can be complex to install, and they will need to be properly calibrated to work correctly. Most homeowners will lack the appropriate tools and training for this work, but replacing or repairing a rain sensor can be a trivial task for a professional sprinkler repair contractor.
